Australian Gliders have their sights set on qualifying for the 2018 World Champs

The Australian Gliders are hard at work preparing for their upcoming qualifying tournament later this year in Beijing, China. The Gliders will need to finish in the top 2 to secure a place to compete in next year's World Championships in Germany. With some new faces added to the mix and some competitive games in Germany and England earlier this year, the Gliders are ready to re-establish a name for themselves as World Class competitiors.

Leanne, a senior player and leader of the Gliders is confident that the team can get the job done, so that they can focus on reclaiming their world ranking. 'I believe that the team is ready and commited to the goal of being one of the best teams in the world. We still have alot of work to do but i'm excited for what this new look can achieve together with Coach Gould and Charlton'. Stay tuned for more info.

Getting to know the locals

On the 21st August 2015, Leanne had the priviledge and pleasure of meeting her local MP Jenny Macklin. They spoke all things basketball, the future, leadership and making a difference within the local community. Jenny is an outstanding role model for Leanne and together they will make a difference. What's hot!

It's no secret that team mates and good friends Leanne and Shelley Chaplin are ambassadors and believers of the CyclePower movement. The duo have embarked on 3 incredible and unforgettable CyclePower journeys so far. Them being CyclePower Fiji in 2013 and CyclePower Thailand in 2014 and CyclePower Cambodia/ Vietnam in 2016.

The girls missed out on CyclePower 2017 to Bali due to conflicting schedules with basketball. As disappointed as the girls were, they will be looking at 2018 and seeing where the journey takes them. Please stay tuned for more info as it comes to light.

In the meantime, if you are interested in sponsoring the girls in future, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

To all those who have given generously along the way, we say Thank you!
